The geometric order of the M.a.s.s.a.s is broken, thrown away by a movement, a line that follows the contour of the sofa. The outer shape of the M.a.s.s.a.s appears to be independent of the inner frame and padding. This seating program is available as a sofa, armchair or chair: a modular system in which each part has its own independent character, both in use and in the sculptural feel.

Designer Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola (1961) was born in Ovied, Spain.

She attended the University of Architecture at Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. In 2001 she opened her own studio working on product design, architecture, and installations. Amongst her last projects of architecture: The museum of Jewel in Vicenza, Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona, das Stue Hotel in Berlin and the Spa of Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.
