Paolo Piva

Born in Adria, Paolo Piva (1950 – 2017) began studying at the faculty of architecture in Venice in 1968, specialising in research in the visual field. Since 1970 he has been principally concerned with industrial design. In 1973, he studied at the faculty of architecture in Venice and got hit degree with a thesis ‘Vienna from 1918 to 1934’. With his design of the Qatar Embassy in 1980 Piva garnered international attention. Among his most famous furniture pieces is the Pyramid Table, a design which places a glass surface atop inverted pyramids for legs.
